Tanning FAQ's

Q.  Are there any benefits to Tanning?
A.
Body Weight: Sunlight stimulates the thyroid gland which boosts your metabolism.
Psoriasis: Eighty percent of sufferers show improvement with UV exposure.
Stress: Decreases adrenaline levels and releases endorphins for the feeling of well being.
Seasonal Affective Disorder: "Cabin Fever" or "Winter Blues" sufferers show
improvement with exposure to UV light.

Q. How long does it take to get tan?
A.
You will see results with your very first session. It takes 4 or 5 sessions using the HT54 or
HT60 Booths to build a base tan. We recommend the use of a quality lotion to increase your
tanning potential and keep your skin feeling healthy and soft. The sessions should be used
within a 10-day time period for optimum results.

Q. Why do I need to wear eye protection?
A.
Eye protection is required by law. The eyelid does not effectively block ultraviolet light
while tanning. Therefore the use of approved eye protection is required in Hollywood Tans
to insure that our customers do not suffer ill effects such as cataracts or night blindness.

Q. Why use lotion?
A.
The lotions sold at Hollywood Tans are the finest products available. They have been
created especially for use in our indoor booths. These lotions are designed to deliver
vitamins and minerals with maximum hydration. Your skin will react by becoming healthier.
Healthy skin will tan more efficiently and hold it's tan longer

Q. What is a photo-sensitizing medication?
A.
A photo-sensitizing medication is a medication that when taken could cause your skin to
become highly sensitive to UV light. Therefore if you are taking any prescription medications
please ask your doctor if it is safe for you to continue tanning.
